singer garth brooks was at mets spring training in 2000. garth spent a lot of time with children from the make-a-wish foundation. brooks' "touch 'em all" foundation gives grants to generate funds for the benefit of childrens' charities. after the games, garth spent hours, often until late at night signing autographs for fans who had travelled from all over the usa to see him. he seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself playing baseball and hanging out with the 2000 new york mets.
